Our Story

From Forest to Table

Pine and Table began with a simple idea: bring the warmth and craft of a Pacific Northwest lodge to Toronto's Dundas West neighbourhood. We wanted a place that felt like a retreat from the city, not just another restaurant. The inspiration came from pine forests, stone fireplaces, and the timber architecture that makes a lodge feel both rugged and welcoming.

Our name reflects two great loves. Pine symbolizes the natural, rugged elegance of the forest that shapes our atmosphere. Table represents the communal heart of dining and poker, where food, drink, and cards bring people together. Together they speak to a place of gathering and craft.

Our Philosophy

Craft and Care

Seasonal and Canadian

We celebrate the best of Canadian ingredients, changing our menu with the seasons to reflect what's fresh and local. Partnerships with Ontario farmers and producers guide our kitchen, and our menu highlights wild game, freshwater fish, and foraged elements. Respect for the land and its rhythms is at the centre of every plate.

Handcrafted Warmth

Every detail, from our handcrafted furniture to our open kitchen, is designed to make you feel at home in the lodge. Custom timber tables and chairs made by local artisans anchor the room, while stone fireplaces and soft lighting create intimacy. Service is attentive but never intrusive.

The Quiet Thrill

Our private card room offers a refined poker experience that complements the dining, never overpowering it. Discreet, felt-topped tables sit in a separate lodge room, with a focus on social play and skill rather than spectacle. The atmosphere is respectful and reserved for guests 18 and older.

The Dining Room

A Lodge Table

The dining room is anchored by exposed timber beams, a stone fireplace, and handcrafted tables that invite you to linger. Custom furniture made from reclaimed wood pairs with soft, warm lighting from iron fixtures. Seating accommodates intimate dinners and larger gatherings alike.

Large windows frame the street, but the interior feels like a forest retreat, with pine accents and natural textures throughout. Pine boughs and seasonal greenery add life to the room, while stone and wood surfaces create a tactile experience. There is no loud music or distraction—just conversation and craft.

The Private Card Room

A Quiet Table

Tucked away from the dining room, our private card room offers a discreet space for social poker, with felt-topped tables and soft lighting. Professional-grade poker tables carry a lodge aesthetic, with comfortable seating for up to eight players per table and a separate entrance for privacy.

Poker at Pine and Table is about camaraderie and skill, not high stakes or spectacle. It's a natural extension of the lodge's warm hospitality.

Friendly, low-pressure games are guided by experienced hosts, and the atmosphere remains calm and respectful for guests 18 and older. There is no casino feel—just good company.

Community

Our Commitment to Community

We are proud to be part of Toronto's Dundas West community, supporting local suppliers and artisans whenever possible. Our sourcing reaches Ontario farms and producers, and we collaborate with local woodworkers and craftspeople. We also participate in neighbourhood events and initiatives that strengthen the area.

From reducing waste to choosing sustainable seafood, we strive to minimize our environmental footprint. Composting and recycling programs operate throughout the lodge, seasonal menus reduce food miles, and energy-efficient kitchen equipment helps us tread lightly.
